Howdy...Just bought a home in Grants Pass, on Gilbert Creek...I am trying to locate where this creek originates, and where it flows to...or a mapping of its course...It is sweet!

It comes out from the hills above vine and highland.
It is a small 2' wide trickle that comes out of a culvert in the back of a property we are developing.
PM me if you want the address. I live in GP as well

Default brought back memories

Wow! there's a blast from the past! I lived near Gilbert creek when I was a little kid. Used to play around it all the time. I actally caught a fish once (shiner) off the Savage St. bridge with a safety pin, string and old broom handle We lived at the corner of Savage and Hawthorne, then moved next door in 1958 to 1310 NW Hawthorne to a new house my Dad built.

Whenever I move to a new area, I buy a USGS topographic map of the neighborhood (and usually several surrounding quadrangles). It shows every stream, hill and road in detail.
Here's a list of all the USGS map retailers in Oregon:
http://rockyweb.cr.usgs.gov/acis-bin/choosebylocation.pl?statechoice=Oregon (broken link)
including Armadillo Mining Shop, 2131 NW Vine St., Grants Pass
They should also have digital topographics maps covering the entire Rouge and Siskiyous on CD, if you prefer.
