Default Oregon Coast Vacations

I am looking for the funniest town on the coast to take a family vacation. What is teenager friendly not to costly and a lot to see and do? I have been checking out Brookings,Gold Beach& Lincoln City. I would like too hear from people who are familiar with the coast of Oregon. Thanks

Seaside is the most teenage and family friendly city on the coast followed by Lincoln City. Most places in Lincoln City you will need to drive to, but everything in Seaside is within walking distance.

The Oregon coast is a great vacation destination. My favorite has always been Seaside Oregon for the variety of things you can do there.

This link will take you to their visitor’s bureau.

How about camping at one of the Dunes Campsites say Winchester Bay (Reedsport) or Horsfall Beach (North Bend/Coos Bay) and ride the sands on ATVs.

Seaside is a hot teenager spot. Theres an arcade there, a really neat carosel, lots of neat little shops, beach volleyball, neato stuff to rent, like these carts that attach to huge kites and you get pulled around on the beach, it goes on and on. I used to love going there as a teen w/a group of friends. Just look out during springbreak. Lotsa kids there then!!

Thanks, everyone for your input. Riding ATV's sounds like fun. I am in Idaho and we ride ATV's in the mountains and the beach sounds like fun. Clear2land thanks for the website I will check that out. Thanks again to the friendly people of Oregon.

Thanks, tiffela74 for the heads up on spring break I won't have considered the chaos of collage students.

We rent a beach house in Waldport every summer. And I lived in Yachats for a year or so. Its right in the middle of everything. To the north you have Newport where there is Pirates Plunder and a knife shop and other gift shops, along with little stores on the bay front (candy stores, wine, bars, clothing stores other gifts) science center, state parks, lighthouses, whale watching sites and tours, air plane rides, other boat rides, and camping. Then to the south there are the Sea Lion Caves, horse back riding, Strawberry Hill... great for tide pools, other Tide Pool sites, more atv rentals, Cape Perpetua Scenic Area, hiking, and more camping. There are also many hotels all along the coast... but I would suggest either Newport, Waldport or Yachats.... its all close to the fun things the Central Coast has to offer. Hope I helped!!
