Default asthma in Oregon

Just wondering if anyone with asthma living in Oregon could give me some advice on how well asthmatics breathe there. I currently live in AZ but would like a cooler climate with more green.

If you stick to Central Or which is more desert-like you will be okay. But Portland and the Willamette Valley are very hard on asthmatics. I have this too and each year gets worse and worse due to the dampness and my pulmonologist tells me to move to a drier climate. Ironically, I like the kind of weather in Portland but my lungs don't. I am not fond of deserts.
Check online to see if there are any recommendations regarding asthmatics and the best places to move.

Thank you for you're response. I was wondering if you take inhaled steroids, aerobid, advair ect. and if so do they seem to help? I currently take aerobid and it helps me but not sure if it would be the same in a wet climate. Thanks again.

I have occasional bouts with asthma. I use prescribed Albuterol inhalant with a spacer (kind of like a bong) to provide better distribution of the mist. It helps me, but it's probably best to see a physician about what specific medications would be best for you in Oregon.

Pollen allergies can also cause problems for some people from mid-Spring to mid-Fall.

Advair worked for awhile but then it didn't seem to have any effect. I have a portable nebuelizer that works pretty well but there are so many things to be allergic to here. That's the price one pays for the beautiful flowers, trees and grass we have here if allergies are a problem.
