Default Singles in Bend Oregon

I'm planning on moving to Bend from an artisitic community. I'm single and wondered if this is a good place to move?

Well, that's not much information to work with (are you seeking M or W, what age range you're in), but there is a vibrant nightlife in Bend now. I certainly see plenty of apparently single people (I'm married) out on the town.

In fact, a good friend of mine just visited from Portland recently and he couldn't believe how many beautiful young women he saw when we were walking around downtown. We both went to high school here and back when we graduated, it was a much different place. Back then, I don't think I would've recommended it to you. But now, I can safely say that it is a fun place with a lot going on for singles.

Good response with regard to singles, so I'll respond to the other part - artistic Bend. For a relatively small town, Bend has a lot in the arts to offer. Great scenery in Central Oregon attracts photographers and painters. We have a First Friday Art Walk downtown and several galleries are in the area. We have good local theater, an annual film festival, and several concert offerings each year. We're not an art community per se, but we do support the arts.

I think regardless of your age (and 36 is not old) you will find singles in the Bend area without having to resort to bars and clubs. Bend is such an outdoorsy town, and there seems to be a variety of outdoor clubs, etc., that I'm sure you will find singles of all ages with all interests!

I don't know much about the private schools in Bend, but I do know there a quite a few private/Montressori/Charter type schools. I believe you can get on the Oregon Dept. of Education website (do a google search on this) and see the test reports for all schools in Bend, whether they are public or private. This won't give you all the information you want, but it will be a start.
