Default La Grande V.S. Helena

hello west coast, can any one give me positive feed back on this area! I read other post and L a Grande is a bit cold to outsiders? I just want my children to live in a nice farm town away from all the gangs.Any thoughts on this eastern town would be great. Im not moving there for all the culture and foofoo shopes. Thanks so much.

In my experience, the people are overall very friendly "on the street", but they are cautious when it comes to acceptance of people from outside the area. I don't think that is particularly unusual. There are always ways of getting accepted quickly into a community simply by getting involved in it. I think it takes more effort on the part of the newcomer than they expect to put into it. Established people don't necessarily rush out to welcome all newcomers with open arms. It just doesn't happen that way any more, (if it ever did). La Grande is a neat little town and because it has a small university, it has some life, too
