binxtheweimer is on a distinguished road
Default Leisesturm, i'd definitely considered that option...

that is exactly what i did when i drove west. i had a friend meet me in california and we drove up the coast, sharing driving, and my partner took the dicier sections.
i've thought seriously about doing that again, though i don't have anyone at this point who could make the drive with me.
this has been looking like a solo expedition, much to my chagrin.
i'd gladly pay someone to help get me to the eastern side of the mountains.
i've just been at a loss as to how to even start to approach such an issue.
i'd even imagined that i might be able to find a trucker in need of a few bucks in eastern washington or oregon who might sign up for a ride through the mountains, a nice little payday and a return train ticket back west.

Take the train or fly and ship the car.

Have you ever been to Portland? We have a hill behind the city center that folks on the east coast would call a mountian.

You hit it right on the head . the only way to resolve this situation SAFELY is for you to FLY and and leave the drivein or shiping to some one else. this way we all will arrive at our destinations in one piece. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR TRIP.
