I've lived in the area for 30 years. Let's discuss the true facts.

Lake Oswego - This "lake" (really a cesspool) is a man made swamp. It's badly polluted with huge algae blooms. I wouldn't touch that water without a Hazmat suit. Loaded with rude egotistical people. Huge Mormon population.

West Linn - Bad location off I-205. Lake Oswego Wannabes who can't afford to live in LO. Loaded with debt strapped professionals who want to show off their success but really live in a house of cards. Bad restaurants, no organic food stores, a generally cheesy flavor.

There you have it. Enjoy!

Hands down, Lake Oswego.

West Linn is more ghetto, has more drug problems. There is more farmland out there too. Lake Oswego has the lake, some great little parks, and is very clean overall. It's so damn expensive though!

I like the Lake Grove neighborhood in Lake Oswego because you can walk down to the lake and go swimming or just hang out. And they have a great fireworks show on the 4th of July. Just watch for bats!

I think Lake O has more culture. West Linn is like a stuck up Beaverton or something.

BUT Lake O and WL are rivals, so if someone is from WL they will probably say WL is better. I am from LO so that's why I like it better, probably.

I liked how I could walk to the grocery store from my house. Everything is within walking distance, at least in the Lake Grove area.
