Default Nehalem Bay, OR

We are spending the last two weeks of August in Nehalem Bay. We've spent a little time in the area in the past, but we mostly bummed around on the coast. We plan to do a fair amount of bumming around, of course, but I'm also putting my feelers out for other things to do as well, or things we shouldn't miss while we're there.

I've heard of some old growth sitka spruce, and a winery, and a few good restaurants... what else is there to do and see in the area? What do people do at night? What about a beach bonfire? Or the best place to stargaze? Any shipwrecks or haunted caves? What do kids love the most in Nehalem? Where's the best tide pool area?

That sort of stuff... I'd love to hear about people's experiences visiting Nehalem...

Thanks!
