I am open to other places in the West. I prefer a place that has perhaps a decent/easy way to get in and out of town easily, because my husband and family will be here the two years I am gone.

Majors I am interested in are anything to do with outdoors. Forestry, Environmental Ed., Wildlife Bio, Outdoor Rec., etc...

Thank you for your help, please let me know if you have any ideas!

I'm a biologist who worked for several years with CA Dept. of Fish and Game, and many of their biologists attended Humboldt State, which has a better wildlife biology program than many large universities. It's cheaper, too. If you can handle the constant winter rain, it might just be the place for you.

I live in Davis, and UC Davis also has a good Wildife Biology program, though I fault it a bit because friends of mine who have degrees from there didn't seem to need to take enough botany, which you really need to have to thoroughly understand community ecology, plant/host interactions, etc.
