Default Is Nye Beach in Newport a safe area?

Is the Nye Beach area of Newport Oregon a safe area to live in? I was looking up the crime in that area and it was above the national averages. Can someone provide me with some info.

Well, what did you find? Without even actually doing any research about it, its managed to filter into my awareness that Newport ranks among the creme de la creme of communities on the Oregon Coast. But Park Slope, Brooklyn, which is one of the creme de la creme communities in New York has significant crime. No one would ever consider it a less than safe place to live, however.

Haha, aww... Newport unsafe? That's pretty cute. No, Newport (even Nye Beach) has it made in the shade when it comes to crime.

Thanks for your response. Below is the website I went to and found crime index comparison's for Newport to other cities.

We love Newport, it seems like a nice community. We are thinking about purchasing a vacation home in Nye Beach and was just a little concerned about the above crime data.

Thanks
