Default McMinnville - more fog/smog?

I notice a dense fog advisory for McMinnville. Is this common? Is it in a valley where fog/smog tends to get stuck?

Hi Sushi,
It isn't really smog related, we don't have too much industry here. The majority of our fog is from the Coast Range and coastal weather patterns. It typically burns off by mid to late morning. It does give it a nice air of mystery when it hangs in the orchards and along the edges of fields!

When I lived in Missoula, MT that had some smog- the smell in the winter inversion was disturbing and we had burn bans and air quality warnings often.

It is fog from the coast. It settles in low lying areas between hills. Burns off by about 10am.
