Nursing jobs in Portland/Vancouver? (job market, salary, live in)

Hi! I am going to be moving to the Portland/Vancouver area and am wondering if there are any nurses out there that can fill me in on the job market? There's a nursing shortage right now, but I'm not sure how strongly it's felt there. I live in Lincoln, NE, and there isn't much of a need for nurses in my area (other parts of the state, yes). What is the pay like for newly graduated BSN RN's? Can I afford to support myself and son on the salary paid there? Which is better...hospitals in Vancouver or Portland? Any advice/information would be much appreciated! Thanks!
