Default Need RV parking in the Dalles area

Hi,

I'm a retired woman, and will be going to a physical rehab class for 10 weeks beginning March 1, at the Dalles, and am looking for a place to park my RV. It is a 19 footer. I have calls in to Lone Pine RV. Park and have talked to the Columbia Hills Park. They don't have any openings. I would rather not go to Goldendale.

I wouldn't mind parking in someones back yard if their is anyone with water, sew and electric that would like to make a little extra money and have a quiet private area. I have a small dog that I keep inside mostly.. except to potty and will keep her area clean. She is quiet.

Thanks.

Pat S

Hi Pat -

Have you tried searching the Reserve America site? You could also try placing a wanted ad on Craigslist for that area. The Dalles is in the Columbia Gorge area, right?

Good luck!

yes, post on Craigslist, there are lots of nice folks near The Dalles. You could even go up the road toward Dufur. The local sate parks would be better than going clear to Goldendale, there are also nice parks on each side of the river near Biggs Jct (But that is still a ways out), Check Dallesport, WA, there is a state park just east of there too. But I vote for the 'backyard' stay.

Call a few churches or drop them an email explaining your need.

Check Memaloose state park. I think they are one of the few in that area that are open year round. Some state parks close in the winter due to the weather. Memaloose is about 8-10 miles west of The Dalles. I think Lone Pine is the only "RV Park" in town. You might try posting on Craiglist too as others have suggested.
