Default We are thinking about moving to OR and need advice

Hi, we currently live in Iowa and we are thinking about moving to Sutherlin Oregon or Canyonville Oregon and we would like some information about these two places. Does any one have any photos they can share of these places? We are both walking handicapped/disabled we 55 and 60 years of age (NO Children). We dont need a place to live or jobs. What we would like to know is about any crime there? Are there any food stores in those towns? Wal Mart or K Mart near by? (driving distance) Is there any problems with the West Nile Diseases being spread there? Is there a VA rep. in those areas? Our hobbies are gold panning and gem hunting and fishing. Are there any good spots around there to pan and fish? Any clubs that your aware of? Thank you John jackgasper@rocketmail.com

You might want to look at Roseburg, which is midway between the two towns you mentioned, which has a VA Center and will have more services than the other two towns.

Thank you for the input. We wanted to move to Roseburgh but they do not have any apartments for the physically disabled. A person has to be mentally disabled.

Portland is not much more expensive, and has a large VA facility. It's rainier than southern Oregon, but still a nice place.
