Been there
I left Nyssa several years ago after living there a year. You are talking about the desert side of the state-I could not garden there,my sewer tax alone was 25.00 before I ran a drop of water. My neighbor had a private well and a gorgous yard, the land is fertile.Prices are cheaper on the dry side but the wet side is,in my opinion,so much more beautiful and gardener friendly. We have no mosquito's where I live, I am 14 miles from the coast and in a very nice climate zone. The Snake River is great fishing but under mercury cautions.Be careful if you move to Ontario to be downwind of Ore-Ida and in Nyssa, the White Sugar factory.I moved in close to it in the fall, when it is closed and was I unpleasantly surprised when the smell hit in the summer.Nyssa is very small,75%+ Spanish and has a very good school system,Ontario has a bad reputation and a poor state report card.It gets HOT on the desert side.I think you should look at both sides of the state-they are 2 extremes from each other. If you are into gardening, the wet side is the greatest.
