What part of Oregon?
Average summer highs can be in the 70s on the coast, 80s-90s (with occasionally glances at 100) in the Willamette Valley, 70s-80s in the Cascade Mountains, the 90s in Central Oregon and Southern Oregon and in the 90s-100s in Eastern Oregon.
Average winter lows are in the 40s-50s at the coast, 30s-40s in the Willamette Valley, 10s-20s in the Cascade Mountains, 20s-30 in Central Oregon, 20s-40s in Southern Oregon and 0-20 in Eastern Oregon. Snow is common in the mountains, Central and Eastern Oregon, and a 0-3 time occurrence in the winter in the Willamette Valley

Grants Pass' city motto is: "It's The Climate" because in the Rogue Valley the climate does not usually have extremes in temperature. It does not have tons of snow.
Winters have some temps at freezing overnight but it usually warms up to mid40s or mid50s.
Summers are beautiful with a couple of days in the 90s around August. Annual rainfall is around 40".

Parts of Oregon get well over 100 in the summer and other parts get below 0 in the winter. It's a large state with a diverse climate.

Actually, our rainfall is more around 30" versus the drier areas of Medford/Ashland and Central Oregon where it's more around 20", less in Eastern Oregon, and around 40" in the Willamette Valley and at least 40" on the coast depending what part (lots of microclimates).
Southern Oregon has about a week or two of 100+ temperatures in the summer and it rarely gets below freezing in Southern Oregon or the Willamette Valley.

In the Salem area we tend to be about 80 in the summer with 1-2 weeks in July that hit 90-100. We don't have humidity out here though.
As for winter's in the mid-valley I'd say typically 30-45ish most of the time. My son is 8 and has been able to play in the snow three times now in his lifetime. We do get snow every year, but it typically doesn't stick.
Ice is a bigger issue here.

I wish. There is no location on the Oregon coast where the average high for any month of the year is over 68F. Many "summer" days, if that's what you want to call them, never crack 55F for a high.

The coldest winter days I've ever experienced have been on the OR coast in the summer. High pressure builds in the valley which tends to suck in fog banks. Combine that with the wind and you can freeze your butt off when Portland is in the 90's.
However there are some winter days on the coast that are just like summer.
The best weather on the coast is early fall.

Yes, Davefr, there are a few summer days like that. At those times, I am amazed at the nonstop stream of cars I see heading for the coast just so they can get away from the valley heat. Summers at the coast are fabulous because it rarely gets too hot. I love the cool breezes. I agree that fall is the best. But, because it does change so fast, anytime of the year has gorgeous times. January was wonderful this year.

And boy, do they complain about the weather when they get here!

You know, OBL, I believe in looking for the silver lining too...up to a certain point...but I don't think we should be disingenuous. If you're a fan of really REALLY chilly weather...if you think that 55F is "perfect", and 70F is "too hot," then maybe the coast has good "summer" weather. But for 95% of the people I know, their chief complaint about the climate on the coast is "there's no summer here!" That lament even exceeds complaints about our long rainy winter season.
