Oh yes, come for a visit near Mother's day - the flowers are great - bring a picnic lunch.

new library just across the street, an indoor community pool not so far either.

when you need a quiet break (w/o kids...) try the library in the Portland Art Museum - if you have the kids go to Powell's Books or the Childrens museum.

Can't make it for Mother's day?
most of the summer will be nice here (free concerts too)

Triana is on a distinguished road
I know I'm coming to this discussion rather late, but I wanted to throw my two cents in and mention that the commute to OHSU really can take an hour for only 4 or so miles of distance. I just started working there this week. I live 8 miles as the crow flies, but it takes me 60 minutes in the morning to get there via bus (it would take as long to drive and be more annoying). It sometimes takes me over an hour and a half to get home, much of it spent stuck in traffic coming off the mountain.

Not too long ago I was working from my house where my commute was through the kitchen, so this is tough for me. But, the job is incredible and I plan on moving much closer to OHSU when our lease is up next year.

If you live on the west side, you can take a shortcut through the hills and come into OHSU from the back.
