Smile Best casual dining restaurants in Bend

We are taking a trip to Bend next week and would like some insight as to the best casual dining (think inexpensive to moderate pricing) restaurants in Bend. We pretty much like everything except vegetarian.

Thanks in advance for the info!

Deschutes Brewery is well above-average pub food.

Pine Tavern is really good. Probably a little more spendy than "caual dining" though. Probably my fave restaurant there.

Tumalo Feed Company...not quite in Bend. Again, it might be a tad pricey for your requirements, but great steaks and onion rings.

Westside Bakery. Great breakfast-y place.

Typhoon! (small chain with 5-6 locations in the NW) Thai food. Great stuff.

Also consider Jake's for breakfast. Truck stop style diner with humongous portions. Far better than the Dennys/IHOP style chains to which it is otherwise comparable.

Anthony's in the mill district is a hopping place - I've only dined there for lunch - the lunch menu might be more inexpensive toward the "causal" price range; otherwise IIRC it's pretty high-end.

Hope this helps.

For breakfast try the Victorian Cafe - it's the best! I also really enjoy Kebaba's for meditteranean food. Very casual and delicious. Typhoon is good too, but it's pretty pricey!

Nina-in-Ashland will become famous soon enoughNina-in-Ashland will become famous soon enough
We were just there 3 weeks ago, and enjoyed several spots ...

* La Rosa (@ Northwest Crossing) - fresh Mexican dishes and very good salsa.
* Cascade Lakes Brewing Co. - very good burgers and beer, and not those meatball-like burgers which is a culinary pet peeve of mine!
* Fireside Pub at McMenamin's - great salads, soup, and burgers (though I liked CLBC better for a burger due to the burger size), very cozy, casual, and intimate.
* Pastini Pastaria - good and inexpensive Italian.
* The Blacksmith - good steaks and "comfort" dishes but a more upscale environ.

I also really liked Kebaba, and the pizza place at Northwest Crossing has good pizza. And be sure to hit the sweets shop downtown for milkshakes.

Enjoy your trip!
