As long as we have coffee shops and real estate flipping, we don't need any other economic/employment base.

That was my business idea. I was going to buy coffee shops and flip them for a profit. Now if I could only find someone to finance me even though I don't have a job, have bad credit, and no assets.

Because no one believes they can be homeless or without a job or hungry or be forced to live in the streets. They know they have skills, they have went to college, they are specially talented, they will be noted as exeptional and will be given jobs over those who have been seeking them for months maybe even years.

It's this blind faith that some people have that everything will work out for them. Those poor homeless people they read about in the paper could not possibly have once been prosperus citizens. They must be bums or lazy or welfare cheats.

They don't read the papers, listen to the news or believe the Internet to see how conditions are, or if they do, they don't think it will ever be a problem for them. It's the old saying "fools rush in." Or in this case, fools rush in without jobs.

Well this week I did see a car commercial where some guy was saying, "I'm unemployed but I still got approved for a car loan!" - maybe you could ask for $$$ from them. (Forgot which dealership it was, though. But I can't do ALL your financial strategy planning for you.)

We also can look forward to the 150 or so low-wage, tax-subsidized jobs that are being created in exchange for building a soccer stadium playground for Hank Paulson's son. That should make a big dent in the unemployment numbers and generally help out the state's economy.

I know you are saying this tongue-in-cheek but take a look at this:

you can try to sway me, or detour me, Im still a coming.Besides, did you see the reports out yesterday, there are certain CITIES in the US, not the whole state with 10%-12% unemployment, so it could be worse. Here I come, Grants Pass, ready or not........

Financial strategy planning? Thats un-American. Impulse spending is what its all about. Buy now, implications later.

Well of course, how silly of us to even try. Grants Pass has only a 9.2% unemployment rate. Grants Pass Jobs (OR) | SimplyHired

Y'all come on down.

can't seem to get past all the ads and quite a few rebuttals on the list by actual people living in some of those areas, so its a grain of salt thing, I get disability by the way, and have saved some moolah, so the employment thing is not the largest thing driving me, but keep trying..
