I checked and the white percentage is around 78% with Native American being only around 6 or 7%. There has been a tremendous amount of speculator development in Cascade Locks and prices has taken a dramatic drop.
I found a new 3 br 2.5 ba townhome w/ 1555 SQ ft and a garage for $1250 a month, never lived in with granite counters and all stainless frigidaire appliances. Not bad, but this is the most expensive townhouse in town with other's go for $995-1100. for 3-4 bedrooms! The school is adorable and is k-12 with around 200 kids total. The air is much cleaner than you will find in a larger city. I hope there is some good fishing! I have lived in Corbett, OR for over a year and love it, even the snowy winter. It was windy! We had a white Christmas! |

That's great, but a word of warning..... The Indian tribe is trying to get a casino built in Cascade Locks (fighting with the government because it is not "tribal land") and it looks like they are making progress. If this happens traffic in Cascade Locks will be a nightmare! There is only a two lane road that runs through the middle of town to handle all the tourists, etc. It's just something you might want to consider before settling in Cascade Locks.
