Default moving from Redmond to Willamette Valley

I grew up in the valley and liked it but thought Central Oregon would be a better more rural place to live. After 11 years of living in Redmond/ Terrebonne, I still feel like an outsider and this place still doesn't feel like home. I found that I miss the Valley more than I thought I would.

I dont know if I should choose Linn or Lane county to relocate to. I don't mind 30-45 minute commute to work. I dont want to live in town. I would like a couple acres, so I can have a garden and privacy. I dont like nosy people, and too many rules and regulations( I dont plan to do anything bad but resent having people always minding my business for me- I have encountered this in Central Or). I like to fish, hunt, go for drives in the country, camp, play with my dogs, etc

Any advice? What are taxes like?

Default Redmond to Willamette

Hello, I just got on to this site, and saw your post.In 2007,.About leaving Redmond..I am currently in Utah.. And thinking about Redmond Oregon for a move this late summer... What was it like there? I am pretty down to earth type of women.. Not so sure if I will fit in there... What did you find about it? I am very diverse, spirtually, very open minded, embrace diversity..I am 58 years old.. Will be renting. Noticed that rent is fairly low there....Which Is what I need right now... But the town may be too conservative for me.. it looks beautiful there.. Bend would probably be better for me, but rentals quite high.. Anyway any advice....I have livied in the Williamette Valley before and loved it.. But I am afraid the rain, is hurting my body nowadays... I hope you are still on this site....Thanks Sedona..

Check out Scio area. Easy access to Salem, Albany, Lebanon (depending on where you're working) and a nice rural community.
