Even if a company's products might be manufactured overseas, I still consider them local companies, and will choose them over a "national" brand. Having a headquarters nearby, being associated with Oregon, are all good reasons to give them my dollar.

Some items, not mentioned, though are:

Moonstruck chocolates (yum!)
Baggallini -- who makes my favorite expandable bags to tuck away in my suitcase when I travel
Tazo teas
Leatherman -- knives and tools
Hanna Anderson -- clothing, primarily for children. Wonderfully soft cotton. The kids loved them.
Kershaw knives
Gardenburger used to be, but the sold out. I'm not sure where they make them, now.

Also don't forget Bob's Red Mill over in Oregon City - you can tour the building and everything. Some of the grains they grind might not be local, but they are a fabulous resource for very fresh specialty flours, grains, rice, etc.
Love Bob's!

... and if you're just after local companies... how about some Monster Cookies (29496 Airport Road in Eugene)? I also used to have a thing for the Wha Guru Chews... when I was pregnant with our first son I bought those by the case!

Smiled will become famous soon enough
Can't forget Josephsons' Smokehouse in Astoria. A great place to stop in for some smoked fish (many varieties) and take a walk down to the river to eat it.

I just saw Moose Munch and thought of this thread. What about Harry and Davids? They have those gift packs and such. They were founded in Medford I think...
