For example, how much would a new construction 4 br, 2 ba home cost?

Some of the most expensive real estate in Oregon - I think it made Money Magazine's "highest price appreciation"

I was looking at a nice new subdivision called Northwest Crossing (garages in alleys behind the houses, several parks, a small commercial strip with shops) and the prices start at around $500k for a 1,400 sf house (on a 5,000sf lot). On the other hand, that's granite counters, wood floors, tile, nice crown moldings, high end windows.

But I don't think you'll find new construction for much less than $400k, not without going outside Bend a bit.

I'm hoping that all this high dollar talk includes the land (however small it is). I have three plus acres in Crooked River Ranch and I'm looking to start building here next year.

It really depends on the area of Bend and the square footage/land/options. They could go between $300,000 to $500,00. It really depends on what you're looking for.
