It got one hell of a "lift up" in 1959. Half a century later and the downtown still shows evidence of a ground zero. So things happen rather slowly in Roseburg...I wouldn't hold your breath on witnessing the dawn of "intellectual thought" in Douglas County anytime soon.

It may be a long growing season but I know for a fact that tomatoes this year never got ripe on the vine! I saw it first hand. Prices are very high for what you get in return. You can actually find better deals in Bend right now than Roseburg believe that or not.

Now that does surprise me..that was not the case a couple years ago!
