Wilsonville is growing fairly rapidly from what I've heard. Very safe and yes, it's considered yuppie from another poster's viewpoint on here. Excellent school system (they are joined with West Linn here), higher home prices, new transit station headed there in a couple of years. We were strongly considering Wilsonville until I spoke w/ their school system and found out that one of my kids, who has a disability, would be in a life skills program not with his peers unless he could handle being in the general classroom without supports, which at this time he can't. We were really bummed about that, though b/c we loved that area!!

I have also heard that Wilsonville is growing. I don't know if I'd call it yuppie, or not compared to other areas in the state. I have heard from friends in EMS that there is a large Russian population in Wilsonville. I think as people move away from the city (Portland), the smaller suburban communities are experiencing a population surge.

There is not a large population of Russian people who live in Wilsonville. That is in Woodburn. Wilsonville is a city with a rich history that remained small for many years but since it is half way between Portland and Salem it is growing rapidly. It is full of fairly new homes and is more of a family area than a yuppie area. Wilsonville has a very enlightened city council and planning committee which is very interested in making sure it is environmentally sound and sustainable community with great respect for trees and the natural surroundings. It seeks a balance and provides natural areas for birds and other wildlife. I live in Wilsonville and love it because of its low crime rate, good schools, nice parks, community pride and ambiance.
