Lightbulb Long Weekend

My husband and I are visiting OR in May to get out of the Vegas heat and have a little break before our first baby is born. Any suggestions on what to do, where to eat while we're there. Niether of us have been before and we are flying into Redmond. I thought we would drive up to Portland? Any suggestions?

You might consider driving up to Highway 84 and follow the Gorge beside the river on the way toward Portland. That's quite a scienic area.

Arrow Vacation sights

I would agree with Waterlily, driving down the Columbia Gorge would be quite picturesque. In addition, you'd be able to stop at Multnomah falls, which is right off of 84. Then I'd recommend going into Portland, spending some time there. That's where you'll find most of Oregon's shopping and diversified dining, tax free ofcourse. Then I'd recommend getting on Highway 26 (Sunset highway) west, and heading out to the Seaside/Cannon Beach/Astoria area. It should be pretty nice weather in May and you'll definately want to see the coast. Then depending on how much time you have left, I'd drive down Highway 101 right along the coast and head back east on highway 126, into Eugene, and then take Highway 58 back up and over to the Bend/Redmond area. It's alot of miles, but very scenic! Let us know how you enjoyed your vacation!
