Clubbing isn't huge in the Salem area, and in fact we have been called boring because there isn't a huge bar/club nightlife here...
well the lack of a big night life won't bother me too much if we lived in salem. we don't go out a lot at night to clubs and i never drink and drive ... we also could go to portland some nights if we wanted night life. well i just looked at silverton's hospital page and they have several labor and delivery openings .... that is what i'm wanting to train in and they said they will take people new to that area, something people usually don't say. it'd be weird to move there after not have visited there on our vacation but looks like it could end up the place. i think we'd be close enough to portland and salem both to stay pretty active and not get bored. i need more info on silverton from anyone who can give it!!! i'm going to do more research right now! =) hey and if we move there i'll know you, too. also, i'm wondering how the roads are between silverton and salem and also silverton and portland ... i am scared of big drop offs and little bitty narrow roads when driving even moderate distances.

Silverton road is totally flat. It's two lanes, well marked and traveled. Honestly I would take Silverton to I-5 to Portland rather than wind my way through Woodburn. We are in the valley...flat land. Some rolling hills but mostly flat.

I delivered my son at Silverton Hospital over Salem because I liked the staff better. I thought the nurses were great in labor and delivery. Silverton does have a transgender mayor, so that may or may not bother you.
