Also? You can see/read where the real estate is out of reach for average folks. The restaurant was expensive and most of the patrons seemed to me to be elderly retired rich.

I can't put my finger on it - but it just rubbed me the wrong way.

Park City has lost my respect too.

We traveled to Bend via Boise (I-84). Yep. Lotsa nuthin. But it was the fastest way to get there. By car.
Did you travel US 26 or US 20? If so, what was the road like? We're coming out in a few weeks and wanted to go across Oregon on that route -- in a motorhome. Any suggestions?

If you are in a rush, take highway 20 from Ontario to Bend.

If you want the nicest drive, take I-84 from Ontario to Baker City (actually a picturesque drive by Interstate standards). Then drive to Bend via routes 7 and 26 - this route is designated an Oregon Scenic Byway. It's about 40 miles farther, but much more to see.

from: Baker City, OR to: bend, or - Google Maps

Thanks karlsch....we won't be in a rush. Just want to make sure everything's ok on the road! We've been in Baker City - nice town - and the Oregon Trail museum. But we've never driven thru Bend and those central areas, except to Crater Lake in a car from Jacksonville. Thanks for the link, too!

Mol1112 is on a distinguished road
We took Hwy 20. We didn't have time to take a different route back.
