Ashland
I know this board is re Eugene, but does anyone know about living in Ashland? I went to the Univ. of Oregon, so I know Eugene, but my husband and I are thinking of retiring to Ashland. When you travel, do you have to go to Portland to get decent priced flights, or are they available in Eugene? How about good medical care? Thanks!

There is the RVMC in Medford Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, OR 97504 - (541) 789-4269
There is an airport & some flights in Medford.
I don't go over that way very often.

I grew up in Ashland... it's a great place to live if you can afford it. It's quite liberal and "touristy". Flights in/out of Medford are slightly more expensive than Portland, but considering the 10 hours of driving you save, it's worth it. Also they've recently remodeled/expanded the airport which makes things run more smoothly. All-in-all, MRF's not a bad experince.

Thanks for the information. That is good to hear. We definitely want to live in a liberal community, and it is good to know that we can get flights out of Medford.
How is the weather in Ashland, compared to Medford? Is it not quite as hot in the summer? Also, the air quality.
