Yeah, there are plenty of Christian-right whackjobs and angry Republicans in California too.

Not as bad as Texas or Oklahoma though!

California retirees will eventually take over all of the western states in search of places to stretch their retirement dollars. Resistance is futile . . .

I grew up an Army brat living in several beautiful states & a couple beautiful countries (then i served in the military). We moved to CA cuz my Dad had orders to Fort Ord when we left Mannheim, Germany. Fer several lustrums after Ord we lived in the Monterey/Marina/Prunedale/Salinas area.

Our Dream always was to live way out in the country on the side of a beautiful forested mountain. We always loved fishin'& campin' booniedockin'...........
Fer many years on vacations we searched for our Dream Spot.
We found our Dream in 1987. We have loved living heer ever since.

I figger i'm one of the last of the Mountain Men.

Take Care..............happy fishin'.............Grizz...............

Moderator's Note:

Look, folks, the topic of the thread referred to how the influx of Californians into Oregon has caused some tension amongst Oregon natives. Let's try and stick (politely and civilly) with that direction.

Those who wish to discuss the woes currently affecting California are more than welcome to do so over int he California forum.

Thanks for everyone's cooperation.

Isn't that how the Mexicans felt before they left Mexico? Powerless to change the rules, so why not leave. Oh come on now!

And the New Yorkers? And any others that feel the same way.

And they get disillusioned with Oregon and feel powerless to change the rules? Run, run, run!

Sooner or later, everyone is going to feel cornered and then they'll finally discover ways to change the rules they could have done much earlier and saved themselves a lot moving costs. Fight, fight, fight!!

And discover how other countries of the world fight their governments more effectively.

This city has been Californicated more times than Paris Hilton. I'm thinking maybe we sould put up a wall like the one we're building down on the border. At least we're not alone: Californians are despised throughout the western U.S. And even thoug there IS a strong anti-Cal coalition here, we're much more subdued than in some places. Try driving around with a California license plate in Sheridan, WY or Missoula, MT. I'm usually a pretty mellow guy but the infestation here has gotten so bad that I admit to being guilty of, once or twice, when seeing a car with Cali plates, pulling up along side and shouting, "Boise is closed! Go back!"
But I say it with a smile. LOL

So I suppose all the Portlanders and Oregonians who flee to Vancouver, WA and Clark County should stay and fight till they get the change they want?

Funny, most CA folks have no problems finding people in other states willing to inflate their home prices to sell to us. Then they look at CA folks like they are the problem . . .
