Default Roseburg

Roseburg is about a 45 min to an hour drive from Eugene. Roseburg is much smaller than Eugene, about 27,000. I grew up there and go back every now and again to visit. The country side is beautiful there, but the town itself doesn't have much going on. Roseburg is in Douglas County which is one of the worst hit locations during the recent recession. There are a few good places to eat McMenamins Pub, Alexandrias Greek Cuisine, and Dino's Italian restaurant. All located in the downtown area. The weather in October can be rather pleasant but cool. Depends on if early or late October. Roseburg is a little bit drier climate than Eugene and be warmer. I imagine the low for October in the mid 40's with highs around 70. Hope this helps.

Default Roseburg

If you want to go to a good, old-fashioned drive-inn, head for Pete's on Harvard Blvd....you can't miss it. Plan on an hour and 15 minutes to get from the airport in Eugene to Roseburg. I grew up in Roseburg and went to school in Eugene. I think the best weather in Roseburg is usually in September but October is pretty nice, too, relatively speaking (I couldn't take the Oregon rain so moved to California long ago).

Weather Service says October is supposed to be dryer and warmer than usual which could be good for you. . . probably in the 70's. That time of year is often best at the coast too.
Property market down too but right now many very good deals. Wish we had waited till now!
