best place in Oregon
So I am planning on moving to oregon in about months with my girl friend and 4 year old daughter.
I am looking for some place that isn't as rainy as seattle but is still near the portland or a larger city. But I am concerned with the crime and drugs. I have seen that portland is the Heroin capital in the country.
I am just looking for a nice little place to live that is safe and is somewhere near university of oregon.

A. The University of Oregon is in Eugene, which is just as rainy as Portland, which is roughly as rainy as Seattle.
B. Dunno where you heard that Portland is the heroin capital of the country, but that's nonsense. Here's a link to the DEA website:

sorry maybe it was meth . But either was I am looking to live in oregon. I am from seattle so I know that the rain can be a bit annoying so I am thinking maybe trying somewhere that is still close to the family but rains a little less.
Any ideas of nice citys to live in that are in the area of portland and eugene? I have been hearing good and bad about beaverton and Hillsboro. What does everyone think about those cities?

Portland is 100+ miles north of the University of Oregon. Beaverton and Hillsboro are in the Portland Metro area. Unless you want a 100 mile commute each way to UO, you should be looking in the southern Willamette Valley nearer to Eugene.

A nice, safe city that is large enough for most conveniences that isn't too far from Eugene is Junction City, about 15 miles north.
Springfield is a city of 50 to 55 thousand directly on Eugene's eastern border.
Cottage grove is about 20-25 miles south of Eugene on I-5.
And to the west is Veneta. At about 3000, it is the smallest of the bunch but there is a major chain grocery store (forgot whose) and a variety of retail outlets there. Veneta's about 15 or so miles west.
Hope this helps, FV

If you want little rain, move anywhere in the deserts of Eastern Oregon.

Corvallis is a good place, very low crime and would be a safe place to raise a family.
