Smile Newport/toledo/lincoln City Area

I Have Recently Been Looking At The Newport Oregon Newspaper Online And Really Enjoy The Information. I Was Wondering If Anyone Has Lived In The Newport Area (or Toledo) And Could Tell Me About The Area From A Local Perspective. We Have Spent Alot Of Time In Newport And We Love It, But We Have Only Been There For Vacations And Have Never Been Able To Stay More Than A Week Or So At A Time. We Would Like To Relocate In The Next Few Months Any Info On Schools, Drugs, Crime Ect... Would Be Appreciated.
Thank You

Hi! I know this is a little late to be replying but thought I would give you some imput. I actually grew up in Toledo. I now live in the Salem area but my husband and are I intrested in moving back to the Newport Area. I love the area. I feel a Special connection with it, though it's definatley not for everyone. If your looking to find a better deal on homes I would look in Toledo. I found the most gorgeous house online for 159,000! I know a while back they had the meth epidemic sweep through the town but that unfortunatley seems to be a problem all over Oregon right now. Seems to be getting better though. The town is well kept, and there are lots of community events through out the whole year. Also, It's built on a steep hill so there are magnificent views from some homes. I really cant tell you much about Newport from a local perspective. It seems like a good place to live and raise a family. Anyways, good luck!
Monica
