Default Monmouth, OR helP!

My longtime boyfriend (6 years) and I are moving down to Monmouth, OR from Washington for him to go to school. I am wondering if it is really that hard to find a job down there, or is it just that most people seem overqualified and they are waiting for jobs in their field to pop up. I need to find a full time job, and I just wanted to see what your input was? I work in Banking right now, so I don't know how hard it will be for me to find a job.

Also, we have two pets, one small dog and a cat, do any of you have recommendations for apartments in that area? We haven't really found much!

Thanks!

Monmouth is a really small town; you'll probably need to look in Salem for a job. It really is hard to find a job in Oregon these days. It's not completely impossible, but you should be prepared for the possibility of an extended period of unemployment.

I agree with Rob Allen. It really is that hard to find a job here right now. Unless you have some specialized skills that make you desirable as a job prospect. Silver Falls Bank failed so there were several local employees that got absorbed by other banks.

You will have better luck finding an apartment that takes pets in Salem.
