Question Relocating from Long Beach to North Bend

I am considering moving into the restored Hotel North Bend when it is completed. I was wondering if any locals could chime in on the area. I am a female in my mid twenties. I work from home and hardly go out. When I do go out I like to go hiking or do nature related things. I love cool weather and the hotel looks charming.

I don't have a car so I will be walking to get groceries/go to the bank etc. How is the immediate neighborhood? I see that there is a Safeway and a mall that is not too far from Hotel North Bend. I currently live in downtown Long Beach (not really in a great area) and it takes in about 12 minutes to get to the grocery store and 15 minutes to the bank. I am very cautious and run my errands in the mornings. Also, how is the weather in the winter months? I'm curious if it is non stop rain or just cold out (since I have to walk to get around).

If I take the place I would be driving up at the beginning of November. Is there anything I would need to know about the roads going up? Thanks!

Well, you'll be living right around the corner from the Police Department if that means anything.

They've got some kind of income restrictions. I mean you can't make above a certain amount and live there. The neighborhood is downtown small city.

Winter brings in the rain and gloom. You can still go out, but you'll need to wrap up for rain protection.

You would be about 5-6 blocks from the Mall. There are three banks in the immediate area. It is on the main street going through town. You are going to experience some rain, but not non-stop. Just bundle up and go for it!
The dunes/beach is about 10 minutes away to the north or 20 minutes to get to the Charleston area. Lots of area to sight see and hike in.
They have done major nice upgrades to this building and it was done professionally this time. I haven't seen the inside yet, but the outside is looking sharp. It had gotten very run down and hadn't been painted in years-a downtown eye-sore for many.
Best wishes to you in your move.

Default Hotel North Bend

Used to be some seriously creepy and mostly booze-soaked folks living at NB Hotel...And I wouldn't want to be a single young female living there, not the best neighborhood.
