Default Commuting to Hermiston?

Seems like some people who may live in the Hermiston area commute from the Tri-Cities area (in Washington). What's the commute like? Especially in the winter?

I've never made the commute on a daily basis, but I worked with people in Umatilla that made the commute. You'll run into more snow and ice over Horse Heaven Hills than in Hermiston or Tri-Cities, but I have to say that I don't remember them missing work due to not being able to make it in. It seemed that if we could make it in, they could to.

Thanks--right...the hills between TC and Hermiston....they'll have snow at times when TC and Hermiston area won't due to differences in elevation.
