Default Looking to rent a home what about Beaverton?

My family and I are looking to rent a home and saw a decent one located in Beaverton. Can anyone tell me anything about this area? Is it a good area for families?

Beaverton is a pretty large town with very nice and not-nearly-as-nice areas. You'll need to be more specific as to the location - although in general it is one of the nicer suburbs of Portland. Lots of families. The "official" word is overall, pretty good schools. Quite a few parks, too, although a frequent criticism I hear is that it is not really a "walkable" area.

Good school district, generally. Where in Beaverton did you see this home?

Thanks for the replys. There were a couple different areas I would have to go back and find the postings for them.

JS - That's the thing I am trying to find out the "not-so-nice" areas to stay away from. Coming from Baltimore I don't know those areas out there and I am looking for a bit of guidance. Although you may think coming from Baltimore any area is going to be an updagrade! I am looking for someplace I can raise my kids and feel safe....doesn't have to be in Beaverton really but close to downtown Portland. Thanks for any help!

Try looking in the Cedar Hills area, although not sure what rental homes are available (although more rentals are popping up as the housing market tanks). An older/established neighborhood in good shape, lots of trees, and extremely close to Portland. Or Raleigh Hills, but that is quite a bit more expensive - but again it is the eastern edge of Beaverton which means it is right against Portland.
