Default McMinnville - Salem commute

I am wondering how long the commute between McMinnville and downtown Salem during regular work hours would be. If, for example, we lived in McMinnville and worked in Salem.

It would take between 35-40 minutes, depending on where in McMinnville. A bad part of this commute is getting over the bridge. If it is during commute times, that could add a lot to the commute time, as there is always a bottleneck. It is also a nightmare to get over the bridge if there is any kind of accident, or if a person is threatening to jump (when that happened, it took 8 hours to get from downtown Salem to west Salem! ). Lots of horror stories that night! For years, we've heard that they would be building another bridge, but nothing yet.

They had 3 or 4 final ideas of where to build it and are doing the environmental impact studies and such.

I'd be SO frustrated if I still lived in Salem because we heard that for decades.
