Default The Coast

My husband and I just moved from the L.A. coast to the Inland Empire in Calif. I hate it here especailly the weather. It made me realize how much I miss living neat the ocean. My husband and I are looking for a smaller town and I would like for it to be no further that 30min away from the ocean. I am an RN and also looking for a hospital near by. Any suggestions??

Coquille is about 15 miles inland and has a hospital. It's a small town with about 4,200 people. Coos Bay has a hospital too. Coos Bay and North Bend are by the ocean.

I've got to warn you that the weather not going to be like L.A. It rains more and it's gloomy during winter.

You consider Oregon near? Or do you want something near in CA?

How about Newport?

Familiar with it?

Newport is right on the ocean and has an EXCELLENT small hospital! Lincoln City also has a small hospital...not rated so highly as Newport by those who have been in/worked at both.

Newport IS an excellent choice. Depoe Bay nearby - awesome views and fishing. Lincoln City great for fishing, more service-oriented. These areas are growing and increasingly loaded up with tourists a good part of the year - so there is LOTS of business at the hospital. We worked at Tillamook County General Hospital in the 1990's. Tillamook, Netarts and Oceanside all nice places to live.

good doctors? HA! try to find one thats been here more than 10 years. The Newport hospital is a joke. The ER told me my hernia was a "big bowel movement" My regular doctor is in the valley, 50 minutes away.
