SE Eugene checking in.

YES a storm is HERE!!! It started out so innocently. Last night a Dairy Mart clerk told me to take note of the relatively warm breeze outside (this was around 9pm). She said she was looking forward to a storm. By 10 pm it was storming.

A neighbor's tree came down & we heard someone working on it with a chainsaw around 4 am. Actually I was deep asleep but Mr. Boyfriend who's getting ready for work then told me.

It's just raining steadily now. Not like a California downpour but steady. Last night it was certainly a downpour!!!

It's not too cold, mid 40's. Very humid at 95%. Slight breeze that kicks up here & there. I took the trash out to the curb in the rain this morning at 7:30 am & I felt pretty comfortable being out there about 3 minutes. I'm not running the heater inside. Just a bit bundled up.

Kate

I don't see many umbrellas here. I'd recommend a hoodie. One that's rain repellant is best. Not many downpours that last long, IMO. Mostly light on/off rain seems to be the norm.

An umbrella may be cumbersome & get in the way taking the rail. If you have a hoodie, it's like having "readers" on a chain around your neck. You use "as needed". Or a rain hat (which I love) but then last time I had one, I lost it - always taking it off when going to different indoor environments.

Have fun in Portland!

Salem checking in also Silverton too..
We had wind and rain most of last night and today here in town was kinda of mellow not near what I expected..
I'm a tuesday morning Horticulture volunteer at Oregon gardens in Silverton, it was cool, rainy but really quite pleasant to be working outside, not heavy rain ..We had our rain gear on so just went on about weeding in the silverton market garden like we do every tuesday..The sun was out at noon when I headed for home..
So guess the coast caught most of the rain ect.
later all.

It's about 3:30 pm. Lincoln City is cloudy and not very cold...maybe low 50's. I see a large clearing coming in from the ocean. I was in Salem earlier and it was pretty with intermittent sunshine. Glad yesterday's wind is gone.

crazy here. we had rainshowers, a really short thunderstorm, some wind gusts, then total calm, and for awhile, nice enough there were people outside walking w/o any jackets/sweatshirts enjoying blue skies.

whats interesting is the difference between the Northern coast, and the Southern coast. We really didnt have any issues down here. no flooding, no damage, nothing really. when looking at the Oregon coast, keep in mind, theres a couple hundred miles of it, and a lot of variety, including weather.

It just started lightly snowing here (south sunriver) at this time it is 26 degrees.
Yesterday we received rain for a few hours and then turned into about a 1/4" snow.

Thanks! I have a rain coat w/hood I can use. It just doesn't get much use in Denver. We have no rain from November through March, and in Summer, we get monsoon rains that are heavy, but short. Very few gloomy, rainy days here in a year.

Yeah, I was surprised to hear about that, too. Where did that wind damage happen?
