Default Positive posts about Ashland??

Hello everyone!

I have been reading all the posts and I am very interested in Ashland. Can anyone tell me about the weather there? Much rain, cloudy, cold, or foggy? Any and all info about Ashland would be appreciated. All positive posts on any towns that you all love in Oregon would be lovely! Thanks!

The humidity varies. Over all it's wetter than most areas, but not too bad. Same with temp and fog. The Shakespear festival is one of the best I've ever seen. SOSU is a good school.

It's a rgeat place, except the place is growing by leaps and bounds.

Ashland is like a really, REALLY small version of San Francisco. Very liberal, and expensive by state standards. Downtown is fun, but it gets old pretty fast. To be honest, the city itself can get boring very quickly. On the plus side, the weather is a little bit better than nearby Medford, which gets to be 110+ degrees in the summer, and stays hot at night.

Although the state of OR has no sales tax, Ashland city has it's own.

I grew up in medford, and Ashland was a fun place to just get away from it all. Can't imagine living there, though.

Default positive posts about Ashland

I'm from Portland Oregon, and Ashland seems to me to be much drier and warmer and sunnier than here. That said, it's also much spendier and much smaller. The university there is good for expanding the town's horizons beyond the Shakespeare festival and tourism (there's a nice art gallery), and the hippie and neo-hippies keep the place more open to new ideas than a town of its size might be normally.

My husband and I like Ashland a lot and thought vaguely about moving there. But the high prices, and the small size of the town kept us here in wetter, rainier, drizzly but wonderful Portland.

Positive comment, the most beautiful Grandson ever lives there, Well his Mom and Dad aren't bad either.
Thier comments to me is it is expensive and thier well water keeps going dry.
Lots of different opinons depending on your thinking some good some bad.
Crowded during the Brit and shakespear festival ( never been, but want too).
Nice and close to Medford that has everything any Big city folks could ask for.
I suggest go stay for a week durging school time. Because it is very busy place when the college is up and running, then make your choice. It is close to alot of stuff though.
So if you go and see the most beautiful little boy you have ever seen tell him YOUR GRANDMA LOVES YOU! Of course he will run away screaming...
