My best friend lives there and I went to visit once. There were many other towns in Oregon that I liked much better. It depends what you're looking for. It seemed like a blue-collar town with a lot of young, very Christian couples having lots of babies. My friend does not fit in there and says people are not very friendly, but she's a little unusual. The small, older downtown area was okay.

It really smells bad due to the mill there!!!!!! Sometimes the smell would drift north to Salem.
