Default Brookings Or. Anyone know anything?

I am moving to Brookings OR from Las Vegas... I was looking at Washington but even the realtors over the phone were rude. I figured we just werent welcome. Anyway Now we are looking at Brookings, well kinda already in the process of moving... Any pointers?

I hear there is a tweaker infestation on the OR coast but isnt that everywhere??

Also Rain... Does it rain as much as people say it rains on the coast even in brookings? If so how bad is the flooding? I have two sports cars and a sportbike Im hoping its not too bad with the weather so I can ride/drive on a regular basis and also the Red Wood forest occasionally for the twisties might be fun.

any help?

Brookings, the banana belt. Beautiful, and yes it rains, and is windy.
There are quite a few sports cars, and the Redwoods are awesome.
The people are friendly and a mix of country and city folk.
Decent surfing, boating and fishing.
May take a while to get to know people but they are welcoming if you are.

Enjoy.

It's better than Vegas.

Wink Oregon Coast Living

Hello,

I am a Real Estate Broker on the S Oregon Coast serving Brookings and Gold Beach. Both are active towns with great weather...Gold Beach is less foggy and Brookings can get into the high 90's in the summer. I would be happy to send a relocation packet with area info Ocean View Homes, Recreationl Land, Waterfront Property[/url] for info.

Sports cars and sport bikes are very popular along the coast...some of the most scenic drives in the country. It's never too hot or cold...we do get between 60-80 inches of rain per year, mostly between Dec/April with about 300 days of sun.

It'll be small town living on the coast. There's lots of older people living in that area. Curry county has the oldest population in Oregon.

Check out Gold Beach too. It's smaller than Brookings but has a nice big beach area.
