Hi! I grew up in Medford and then moved away when I was 19 because it felt too "small town." Now, 15 years later, I am hoping to relocate back to Medford and raise my kids there. The problem is, my husband is a database administrator (Oracle--Harry and David are on an IBM system) and I am not sure if he has a chance in hades of getting a job there. Furthermore, I have had a very difficult time even finding headhunters or IT placement agencies. Does anybody have any ideas on who to contact? I find it completely ironic that I CANT move back to the town I couldn't wait to get out of as a teenager! ANY INFORMATION would be greatly appreciated!

The only idea I have is to check out the local newspaper Mailtribune.com - Mailtribune.com

I'd try Harry and David, One of the IT managers just left to pursue other things.
They may still have an opening. |

You might try Asante Health Systems. I believe they are looking for IT people as well. I think RCC is looking as well. Where are you moving from? I knew someone who moved about 15 years ago, that said the same thing you said. She moved to Boise, because Medford was to small. We are growing leaps and bounds! The hosing market is crazy here as well. The local economy cannot support the housing market. Good luck to you and welcome back!

Hi. I moved from Medford in 1989 and, although I moved back and forth a couple times from the east coast, I was pretty much gone by 1991. I live in Massachusetts now, and my brother ended up moving to Boise. Medford seemed so small in the 80's, nothing exciting at all. Now that I want to come home, it seems as if I am priced out! We have looked at Boise too, but Micron is in a hiring freeze and I am not sure I coud handle living in the middle of nowhere, even if Boise is a big city!

Small world, I found these forums looking up data for Virginia. We are planning a move across the US but are unsure right now. I am unsure of the housing pricing back there, but here it is horrible. The housing bubble killed us here. People were paying 20-30k more than asking on houses which drove the prices up. Now we are having a huge forclosure problem.
