Featheryfern...took the time to listen to Mike Strickland on Itunes. Bought Canon in D for right now...great selection of songs to choose from. Thanks, Topher.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you - I've had computer probs.

Radio stations ... slim pickins would be about right. You can thank RIAA for the demise of many smaller local radio stations.

Mostly I listen to CD's, both at home and in the car.

You bought a great Strickland piece of music!

There are a few stations, but quite limited. some stations place 'transponders' on the coast, but limited reception.

you will probably need to become a 'sirrus' subscriber. I rented a car recently that had satellite radio and that was REALLY nice for a radio addict like myself. My friends who are commercial offshore fisherman like it too!

Another alternative... Radio on demand - which I'm not sure exists, but would be my FIRST choice if I could add a reciever to my computer that I could program to record programs and store to MP3 and then to a USB or SD card that I could plug into any radio so equipped. Another alternative (if you have HS computer) is to download podcasts or MP3

Missing our usual radio programs was a downside of recent coast visit. We had to go to a coffe shop and download the broadcasts we missed on those days.

Thanks to the both of you! Hopefully I will be able to download my radio stations on the web so I will still get that feeling of "home" news and so-on..Detroit is a pretty good place for music ,I have to admit.. Have you gone on "Youtube" and typed " Paul Potts" in the search bar? If not, please do so, you wont be dissapointed. Have to admit, I along with thousands of others, cried when I heard the average looking guy sing "Nessum Dora"! Even if opera isnt your thing ( I like some but am very selective) it restores your faith in humankind and the true spirit of perserverance...talk to you soon I hope Featheryfern...love the Canon D piece and listen to it alot...thanks for the suggestion!

FeatheryFern, it sounds good to me! I've heard the laments about the rain in the winter and all that. Is it really that unbearable? Are there any indoor tennis courts? If I could stay active and keep up my game it would be very attractive to me as a place to live someday.
