I am a recent tri state transport who is trying to find music I enjoy via the radio in the Lake Mary area. Can anyone help me with my station selection. So far I have found 96.5 which seems to talk in the morning and play classic rock hits of the seventies and eighties. No complaints here but the playlist is kind of short. 98.9 plays soft rock. After those two I'm coming up short. Are there any station that play alternative? Stone Temple Pilots, Nirvana, Pearl Jam? What about pop from the 60's or 70's?
On AM I have found ESPN which I think is 1080, is that frequency Bloomberg radio in the morning. Are there any local all sports stations like WFAN in NY? All ESPN talks about is the World Cup (who cares) and tennis. You would not even know there are two major league baseball teams in this state! Any all news stations that follow a time schedule like WCBS and WINS in NY? Please any suggestions would be welcome. I cannot afford satelite radio!

You can try Mix 105.1 (80's-today), XL 106.7 (Top 40), and Real Rock 101(Rock, alternative).

Best classic rock stations are 96.5 and 98.9.

All the stations tend to play the same songs over and over.

101.1 is a decent rock/alternative station, and the morning talk show can be pretty entertaining. I never go on AM so I have no clue about that.

Radio Stations in Orlando FL

The list is missing a few, 102 jamz (hip hop, much better than 95.3) 107.1 A1A (like a top 40 station but also plays older songs and a much larger variety of hits) and magic 107.7 (oldies, 70s 80s, 90s, some current, hits/light rock, but from thanksgiving to christmas it only plays christmas music)

GLS hip hop is not what it used to be, it sucks nowadays there is more concern with looks and style now rather than actual talent. But I will agree 102 Jamz is better (they were here first as a hip hop station anyways) I used to love their old school lunch hour at 12 every weekday. There's a station here in Vegas with that as well, an old school hour.

Im surprised nobody mentioned Sunny 105.9, they play a lot of the older hits. If you like talk radio, a great station to listen to is 104.1 especially for the Monsters in the Morning Show. Always entertaining

Sorry to break it to you, but the radio stations here are garbage, just like the newscasts. Sorry, 104.1 Sunday night vinyl is AWESOME as well as Fri. nights and Sat. night Indie.

I don't think they are any different from any other same sized city.

Yeah, I got fed up about a year and a half ago and got an aftermarket stereo and now use my iPod for car entertainment 90% of the time.

I like 107.1 and 105.9 but we are lacking in some good stations. We use to have Party with dance music and it was great but then went to urban which I think sucks.
