that's a big reason I think the 528 was constructed. Otherwise, you'd need to take local/residential roads to get to the airport.

I've got no problem with toll roads. They are generally better maintained and not stop and go.

My guess is that overall you'd pay more in gas with stop and go driving than what a toll costs.

I love I4. I rarely take 417/408 even though its much closer to me. I'd rather take city roads to either Maitland or Lee Rd. and get onto I4. Of course I live right in the heart of Orlando metro, I would hate living in some absurd place like Clermont, Mt. Dora, Avalon.

On the other hand when heading to Miami I always take Turnpike over 95 and when living in Miami I took the Turnpike all the time over 95.

Up until about 6-7 years ago, I-95 was pretty reasonable all the way down to US-1 in miami, but nowadays, south of WPB, it's so friggin's slow.

As far as all of the I-4 comments are concerned, I thought there was a long-term plan in place to widen I-4 from SR 434 to Kirkman. trans4mation.org?

Thanks much for this info. I didn't know you could choose "no tolls" will try that out!

People in Orlando that complain about the toll roads, probably haven't been to other cities that have no toll roads. Theres usually a lot more traffic, they are less up to date, and they are not landscaped nicely.

People visiting Orlando that complain about the toll roads don't realize how much tolls relieve traffic, and they are probably visiting from a city that has no tolls.

I don't mind paying tolls, because over time I've realized how much they have helped the road conditions and the overall driving experience. The turnpike is looking very nice as well. When it is finished, it will look very nice.

I-4 looks like a freeway they might have in LA. Either way both roads in those pics look pretty good to me. Truth be told I miss driving on I-4, I found it fun in a weird way. I always looked for an excuse to get my car on the highway, any excuse to go fast

I love that particular view of I-4 shown because 100% of the time I veer off onto the Right as if I'm getting off onto Colonial and then I move back in.

Actually had to go down to JYP today and did that very thing, got over sped up, past a bunch of semis and then got right back on.
