I've noticed a high number of lovebugs swarming the last few days. Is this the time of the year it happens? Is it because of the humidity?

I haven't been swarmed by them personally, but I can tell they're swarming around the cars.

It has nothing to do with the humidy, and they don't swarm people. They are very slow moving harmless bugs that show up every 6-8 months. They die out fast, within the next week or two they will be gone again. They're annoying though, cleaning them off your car is a pain and they often land on people and just sit on them.

This is going on all over Central Florida, I am in Deltona and they had someone with a leaf blower at Publix trying to clean all the dead lovebugs off the side walk and the entrance. They should be gone in a few weeks, just a pain keeping your car clean. I drive to and from UCF a few times a week and going across Lake Jesup is normally full of bugs but this week it was awful!

An employee at out Publix here in Oviedo was shop-vacing them so the customers could get in the door without tons of bugs on them! It's quite bad this year!

I have noticed that in my neighborhood that they tend to be attracted to the lighter colored houses.
I left the house in a white shirt this afternoon and was swarmed by lovebugs. Just a few more days....

I stopped at the Publix off of Colonial downtown after work this weekend. I tell you what....I've never seen such a swarm in my life!! I had to make sure to keep my mouth shut until I got into the store!!

I've lived in Florida most of my life and in Orlando for a couple of years or so....I've NEVER seen them like this.

So they don't taste like chicken???

I live on the west side and don't usually even notice them.

We have much more than usual this year.

I saw on the news to use fabric softener sheets and water to clean them off the car and to clean them ASAP because of the high PH balance in their body's it can eat the paint fast.
