Default 6 1/2 months on the market

Our home has been on the market for 6 1/2 months. We have gotten a few offers.

1. $50K below asking price
2. $6K below asking price, we pay all of the closing costs, and then after closing the buyers wanted us to pay them $10K off the books.

We are now priced $5,000 below what we paid for the house 2 years ago.

There are so many housed similar to ours in the same price range. We are hoping it sells soon since we are taking it off the market in 3 weeks so our daughter can start kindergarten, and we will try again next year.

We had our home on the market for 5 months and took it off the market NOTHING is moving out here in Poinciana there are far to many Foreclosure homes out here which will just drive our asking price to far down to buy another home.. so we will try again if the market ever shows its getting better

WE HAD to sell to relocate, so we came down close to 20K after 3 months on the market and it sold. We still made money since we've been in the house a while, but if we hadn't had to sell right now, I would have never tried. It was very stressful to keep the house showable and have people coming through every week and loving it but not being able to buy, or not wanting to commit, or not being able to get financing. If we never move again, I'll be happy!

thats the thing everyone is having to bring their home prices way way down... and if we did we would not beable to afford to live where we would like to move to ( better Family Commuity)

I had a success story in a weird sort of way. I'm in the process of a divorce and was forced to rent my house because I could no longer afford the mortgage. And wouldn't you guess, it took me only two weeks to rent it. And, so far, the renters are very interested in buying it!

I know this is only a rental story, so I'll tell you A Seller's Story too. Homes are selling but with so few buyers, you must be the best priced in your category to sell. 2008 won't be so great but if you can re-work your plans to sell in 2009, you'll have taken a skip over this rotten market. That's what was hoping to do by renting my home and plan, I can tell you so far, is working.

My parents home has been on the market for 4 months and has only been showed once. They have lowered it below 200K (1700 sq 4bed/2bath) and still no bites. There Realtor is partly to blame I think but its still TOUGH out there right now!

buyers can afford to be choosy so you have to really make your house stand out somehow... spend time on the pictures, the description etc. don't just slap it up there. really market it. make it the best of the comparables in ur neighborhood.
