Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee is awesome! Never stayed there but lived in the area, I have been there for a few events and it's beautiful esp. during the Holidays. It is also very easy accsess to the Disney area and I-4, resturaunts and shopping. Not sure how kid friendly it is..but there is a Nickelodeon hotel right around the corner that's pretty cool if that's more up your alley

It depends on your budget. And depending on what attractions you are planning on visiting, Kissimmee might not be the best area to stay in.

Are you going to Kissimmee because of Disney? Or something else.

I ask because if your are going to do Disney I would suggest you stay on Disney property. It can be just as cost effective than staying off property.
Also expand your search to include the International Drive area.

There are many more nicer hotels on International Drive and Lake Buena Vista than 192 in Kissimmee.Look around 535 up towards lake Buena Vista area for some nice places closer to Kissimmee,I-Drive south of Sand Lake road or just stay in Disney.
